Many products in the market provide ruggedized portable and industrial solutions for a variety of applications that are ideal for airlines operating in these harsh conditions. The products are designed to fulfil the needs in terms of cost-effectiveness, durability, reliability, mobility and unparallel performance. In addition, through their compatibility with off-the-shelf standard components, these products have a virtually uncapped upgradability.

Mobile Phone

Videcom now provide a mobile application that allows users to make bookings from mobile phones in an easy to use, cross platform booking interface.

The brand new Videcom mobile booking application has been recently developed by popular demand by our airline customers to meet the demand of the modern traveller who needs to be able to make travel plans on the go without having to visit a travel agent or make a booking at a fixed location. The new application has been developed to support cross platform users including Apple, Windows and Android smart phones with the latest industry technology.

Passengers have full access to your system allowing them to booking flights on the go from any smart phone device. The mobile application is integrated to deliver flight availability and fare prices that are right up to date in real time so your customers are only offered seats that are available at the current selling prices.

Returning passengers can access their existing bookings and make changes. Once logged into their booking they can change their flights, add ancillary products to the booking and even select seats. This gives you the opportunity to sell additional value added products to the passengers or allow them to change their flights which may include change fees - all additional revenue for your airline.

With different devices operating at different resolutions and formats Videcom rigorously test our products to ensure accessibility and ease of use for the apple community.

What Apple Says
"It loads web pages faster than ever. It’s the best way to read on the web. It works with iCloud across your Mac, iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. It even checks your spelling and grammar. It’s a web browser that’s so innovative, you’ll do much more than just browse."

Speed boosts productivity. That’s why Chrome is built to be fast in every way - starting up from the desktop, loading web pages and running complex, business-critical web apps like Salesforce, QuickBooks Online and Concur. Chrome runs fast even on lower-end machines, which can save money by extending the life of your current hardware.

Google Chrome for Business uses technologies like Safe Browsing and sandboxing to help protect your organisation from malicious websites, viruses, malware and phishing attacks as your employees browse the web. And Chrome’s cross-site scripting protection offers added security against sites that try to steal company and employee data.

Internet Comminications

The Videcom Airline Reservation System was built for the internet to ensure easy distribution and drastically reducing comminucation costs to airlines at a time when legacy systems and networks became outdated and hugely expensive.

By distributiing all communications over TCP/IP (Internet Protocol) networks suddenly airlines no longer needed the slow and expensive dedicated leased lines that had been holding back the industry for decades.

To access your Videcom System from anywhere in the world all you need is a standard internet connection which can be fixed lines, wireless networks or even 3G mobile networks.

Virtual Private Networks

Videcom runs on standard internet connections but you can enhance the network security and performance of your airline system by running all user connections through a private network still based on internet protocols and services.

A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network and the resources contained in the network across public networks such as the Internet. It enables the host computer to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if it were a private network with all the functionality, security and management policies of the private network. This is done by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated connections, encryption, or a combination of the two.

The VPN connection across the Internet is technically a wide area network (WAN) link between the sites but appears to the user as a private network link—hence the name "virtual private network"

Tri Band 3G Mobile Networks

To mobilize your airlines IT capability and provide access to your reservations and departure control system your can run the Videcom reservation system across mobile wireless networks. A perfect example of how flexible the system can be would be to run your check-in operations from mobile devices or laptops using a 3G mobile network and even produce IATA compliant boarding passes and bag tags to give the ultimate in mobile check-in. Just the thing you need in remote locations or where your check-in needs to be versatile.

3G, short for third Generation, is a term used to represent the 3rd generation of mobile telecommunications technology. Also called Tri-Band 3G. This is a set of standards used for mobile devices and mobile telecommunication services and networks that comply with the International Mobile Telecommunications specifications by the International Telecommunication Union.

The 3G standard is perhaps well known because of a massive expansion of the mobile communications market post-2G and advances of the consumer mophone. An especially notable development during this time is the smartphone (for example, the iPhone, and the Android family), combining the abilities of a PDA with a mobile phone, leading to widespread demand for mobile internet connectivity. 3G has also introduced the term "mobile broadband" because its speed and capability make it a viable alternative for internet browsing, and USB Modems connecting to 3G networks are becoming increasingly common.
