Airline Eticket database

Check-in and Departure Control becomes fully automated with Etickets and it provides the airline with a more reliable and robust mechanism to account for tickets and money received. At airports where the airline can use the Videcom Departure Control System the Check-in staff are directly connected to the Videcom Eticket Database so they can see the latest status and and transactions that are made at the airport such as checking-in and lifting (using) ticket are reflected imediately in the central database.

Where 3rd party check-in systems are being used such as when a handling agent is processing passengers tickets are exchanged and controlled between the 2 systems depending on the capability of the other system. If the handling agent is using an advanced system they can take control of the Eticket using Type A Edifact links which carries out transactions on a real time basis and both systems will have the same status at all times. If an other system is being used the Eticket numbers are sent to the other system which will in turn send back an Eticket list of those passengers that checked-in on the flight. 

There is a built-in accounting module which is fully integrated with VRS and can be used to control the accounts of travel agents and customers. This provides the ability to issue invoices to travel agents and corporate accounts, add remittances into the system and keeps an account statement and ageing report for those agencies.

For airlines that use a seperate Revenue Accounting system VRS generates IATA standard BSP RET and HOT files which are automatically exported from the system on a daily basis to other systems. This allows the Videcom IATA Eticketing data to be used to reconcile against data received from other parties such as BSP and IDEC.
