Passenger Processing

Operational staff can use graphical screens to move all passengers or individual passengers from one flight to another in the case of merging or cancelling flights. The operation is very fast and passengers are available immediately on the new flight for further changes or check-in.

VRS has an automated process in place identifying possible duplicate bookings which then allows airline staff to be cancel flight segments and return them to inventory. A duplicate report is produced showing the creation of a possible duplicate pair of booking in the system. To determine if a duplicate PNR exists a stringent set of criteria are used to compare details across the suspect PNRs. A modular engine can be enabled which monitors bookings within the system for duplicate reservations. Daily reports are generated and automatically sent to designated staff to process and cancellations required and minimize wasted inventory.

VRS provides a queue system for the management and storage of PNR’s. Each sales office has a set of numbered queues – up to 1000 – that can be customised for internal use. The queues usually contain flight confirmations, waitlist clearance and schedule changes. They can also be used for example to store PNR’s that are ready for ticketing. The system allows users to place bookings on a queue, remove the booking from a queue, view the number of bookings on all queues and sign onto queues to work through and process the bookings that require action.

Once an aircraft has been sold it's full capacity of seats, it is possible to waitlist passengers in the case a seat is cancelled the seat that was taken will be allocated to another passenger on the waitlist. VRS allows regular waitlisting - first come, first served or Priority booking. With the priority booking you are able to change the passengers position within the waitlist.
